Christopher Hodson

Tenor Christopher Hodson is an emerging artist currently based in Princeton, NJ, where he has enjoyed success in opera, concert, and recital. Most recently he originated the role of Doyle in the world premiere of A Capacity for Evil with Opera MODO in Detroit, MI. Previous operatic roles include Peter Quint (The Turn of the Screw), Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus
dem Serail), Nemorino (l’Elisir d’Amore), Pelléas (Pelléas et Mélisande),
Chevalier de la Force (Dialogues des Carmelites), Fenton (Falstaff), and the title
role in Bizet’s Le Docteur Miracle. Christopher is an alumnus of established
Young Artist Programs such as Saratoga, Caramoor, and CoOPERAtive, including
a summer abroad with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.

In 2018, Christopher debuted in his first album as a featured soloist with the New
Jersey Chamber Singers and Orchestra in their performance of Mozart’s Requiem
and Bach’s Cantata 80 (Naxos). Other solo credits include Howells’ Requiem,
Handel's Messiah, and Bach's St. Matthew Passion, once with the American
Classical Orchestra under the baton of Tom Crawford and another with the New
York Philharmonic at Avery Fisher Hall. He performs regularly with the
Philadelphia Symphonic Chorus, the Opera Philadelphia Chorus, and the Choral
Arts Society of Philadelphia.

While actively performing, Christopher maintains a regular teaching schedule at
various studios in the Princeton area. His students have gone on to study at Cal
State Long Beach, Texas Christian University, Princeton University, Carnegie
Mellon University, Lehigh University, and Hofstra University.

Christopher holds a Master of Music in Voice Performance and Pedagogy from
Westminster Choir College where he studied voice with Dr. Christopher Arneson.
He received his Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Music from Western Michigan
University.
