Physical Science

Muhlenberg’s Physical Science major lets you explore the natural world through diverse perspectives—including physics, chemistry and astronomy—while working through a dual degree program that can open a path toward pursuit of an engineering degree. From the experimental physics of nanomagnets to the theoretical physics of string theory, you’ll study some of the most exciting topics in contemporary science. 

This interdisciplinary major is designed specifically as a precursor for students wanting to pursue engineering studies—either in graduate school or as part of Muhlenberg’s unique Engineering Dual Degree partnership with Columbia University, which enables you to earn both a bachelor of science from Muhlenberg and a bachelor of science in engineering from Columbia. Employers tend to look favorably on students who graduate from these programs.
