Physical Science Learning Goals

Upon graduating Muhlenberg College with a degree in Physical Science, students will be able to

  1. Demonstrate a broad-based knowledge of the fundamental principles of the fields of Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics (as defined by each of those respective programs).
  2. Solve familiar and novel problems from the various constituent disciplines using techniques appropriate to those disciplines.
  3. Collaborate effectively in diverse and inclusive teams to complete projects.
  4. Use and apply tools in unfamiliar situations to contend effectively and confidently with ambiguity and uncertainty.
  5. Use discipline-appropriate laboratory equipment to collect and analyze data, graph and otherwise display data, and communicate their results effectively.
  6. Use discipline-appropriate mathematical and statistical techniques as well as computer software to solve problems within each discipline.
