Physical Science Learning Goals
Upon graduating Muhlenberg College with a degree in Physical Science, students will be able to
- Demonstrate a broad-based knowledge of the fundamental principles of the fields of Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, and Physics (as defined by each of those respective programs).
- Solve familiar and novel problems from the various constituent disciplines using techniques appropriate to those disciplines.
- Collaborate effectively in diverse and inclusive teams to complete projects.
- Use and apply tools in unfamiliar situations to contend effectively and confidently with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Use discipline-appropriate laboratory equipment to collect and analyze data, graph and otherwise display data, and communicate their results effectively.
- Use discipline-appropriate mathematical and statistical techniques as well as computer software to solve problems within each discipline.
